Does it hurt to get your period?

does it hurt to get ur period like how will you know? will you feel it wen it comes ? or will it feel wet? im 12 and had discharge for about 2 months i feel wet down there at school but not at home and its rele uncomtorble i need help idk wat 2 do please answer all ques!
