Do you think the fall of the Islamic age in 1258 has anything to do with Baghdad's destruction in 2003?

First of all, I think taking a broad view of events is healthy. The fall of Baghdad did not necessarily mark the end of the Islamic age as it was only one of three great Islamic empires. Indeed, the Ottoman empire carried on into the 19th century. I hope you do not believe there are ruins in Baghdad which are literally radioactive as well as no nuclear weapons have been used there. I do believe the events are somewhat connected however as the Islamic world basically turned it's back on science and progress and other things deemed Western by the religious leaders. (Indoor plumbing, firearms, printing presses, etc.) This ushered in the current age of ignorance and poverty that we see in the Islamic world where the mes of people are mostly subject to whatever the mullahs choose to tell them to think and the Islamic countries are mostly impoverished 3rd rate backwaters. I hope this helps you some.
